We believe in teaching what works.

Martial arts should be practical and effective. A triple somersault flying kick might be great for the movies but how many people have the skill to pull that off when it matters, or the time to reach that skill level in the first place?

It should also work regardless of your physique or your opponent’s physique. Striving to build a strong and healthy body is important but just because you’re physically smaller or older or somehow weaker doesn’t mean you should be destined for defeat.

Gojuryu Karate works because it focuses on delivering maximum speed and strength efficiently, and on raising that maximum over time through building a strong and balanced body.

We know that traditional training methods work because they have been tried and tested over generations.

So we teach what works.
